Some amigurumi

I have been making some little amigurumi projects, with the patterns from this wonderful site.

I used up some of the purple yarn I had leftover from this project.

The animals are small - so I can finish one in about an hour and a half.

I modified the pattern a bit to go from the bottom up. This is so that I don't have to join the legs on one by one. I think they have a bit more sturdiness to them.

I like the bunny ears, they're so big and floppy!

Little Women stuffies

I stopped in to see a few more productions of Little Women this past weekend, because I just can't get enough. I snapped an illegal shot form the back row with my iPhone. I'm very sneaky, but how could I resist?

Our Stage Manager asked me if I had any little animals that we could use to dress the set. I gave her one of my crocheted bears that I made when I was testing the pattern. It has a real 1860s look!

And look at this cutie. The gal playing our Amy makes them, isn't she adorable?

Knitted Elephant or Crocheted Elephant?

My friends John and Nina had a baby girl - Asha! While they were here visiting in the summer, Nina mentioned she liked one of my stuffies - an elephant. But that elephant was grey and green - sort of a boy elephant. Once Asha arrived, I began making a girl elephant.

I can knit and crochet, but I generally crochet my stuffies. I dunno why, they seem to have more substance and it's easier for me to manipulate small pieces if I'm crocheting. But finished knitted objects look so nice and smooth and soft. So I decided to make one of each. I had scribbled up a pattern for the crocheted pink elephant, and I made the knitted white elephant as I went along. Which do you like better?
