Magee Market Fair 2015 Wrap up

Friday night was the Magee Market Fair - 2015 edition!

I put my loom to good use, as always:
And made some minions and bear heads!
The baked goods like cupcakes and donuts are always a hit. I sold a lot of those crochet cup warmers too.
Here's the secret to a fun craft fair: good food...
And visitors :D
It was certainly quieter this year, but still a lot of fun.

5th Year of Magee Market Fair

Tonight is the Magee Market Fair 2015 and I'm excited! This is my 5th year participating as a vendor at the market fair, time sure flies! I like how it benefits the Magee Music Society, and they get a lot of the kids involved. The students call me to remind me about booking a table, and they help me bring in my wares from the car. They also hand out free coffee to the vendors, and there are so many student performances throughout the night. I've had some fun over the years:

2011 was my first year and I had a TON of stock. It was also the year I made Angry Birds, and they sold like hot cakes.

In 2012 I had a table next to Oh Hello Rabbit, so it was nice to have a selling buddy. I started making more desserts like donuts and cupcakes, and also sold some little magnets.
In 2013 I packaged items up and sold them as little sets. They didn't do as well I thought - I think the price point of the market is lower so I thin people wanted individual items. It was also the year I introduced yarn flower pins: $2 each of one free with every purchase!
In 2014 I made a lot of items on my loom, since I had just learned how to use it. I'm still obsessed with it, so there will be a lot more loom-knit items on my table. I also had a table next to my sister, who sold purse organizers. And my friend Linda loaned me her mannequin, which is such a nice display.
And that takes us to this year, 2015! I'll have an update for you on Monday. But I already know it's going to be fun. My helper and top sales-lady Allison will be with me again. We're hanging out in a high school gym on a Friday night, then going for pizza. We're teenagers!

Bear head

Good morning! Here is a bear head to brighten your day. No body, just a head. It cracks me up, for some reason. I'm going to make a few more for Magee Market Fair 2015 edition. I have gone to this event for the last few years, and it's always a blast. Hopefully someone will like this lonely bear head.

Magee 2014 Wrap up

Last Friday was Magee Market Fair 2014, and it was a blast, as always!
Here's my table, ready to go. I made a bunch of cowl/scarves on the loom, and Linda let me borrow her mannequin ("Evelyn") to use at my display.
A closer shot of my goods:
And here is my sister's table beside me:
She sews purse organizers! They have a bunch of pockets for your gum, water, hand lotion, etc. They fold up and you can move them from purse to purse.
See? So your things aren't bumping around at the bottom of your bag:
Linda made a couple of collages of the night. There we are in the top left corner.
It was a great night, as always.

Packed and ready

I'm all packed up and ready to go for tonight's Magee Market Fair. The good thing about selling yarn goodies is that they can all be squished and packed into relatively small bins. I'm on my own for set up so it's very handy to only make a couple trips back and forth from the car. I'm excited, it should be a fun night!

Loom Hat

Loom knitting is not just for scarves and headbands, ya know. I also have a set of the round looms, which I've used to make some socks and hats. I finally got even tension on the hats, here's one I whipped up for the Magee Market Fair.
I love how the bulky yarn knits up so fast.
And I also love this pattern - so easy and look, the perfect slouch.

Magee Market Fair 2014

This Friday is the Magee Market Fair! This is my fourth year in a row that I have taken part in this great event. You should see my living room, there's yarn goodies everywhere. It's awesome! This year I'll be sharing two table with my sister, who is selling purse organizers. Should be a lot of fun!

Bow Headband

A while ago I bought a few felt-covered headbands from a craft supply store. They had funny little felt flowers on them that were a bit squashed. So I yanked them off with some scissors and crocheted a few bows to take their place:
It was super quick and easy. Here's blurry bathroom pic 1:
And another:
They'll go in the inventory pile for the Magee Market Fair, 2014 edition!

Market Fair 2013 wrap up

The Magee Market Fair was last Friday and as usual, it didn't disappoint! Great food, lots of vendors, a huge book sale and some really wonderful entertainment. The table full of stuff from Jenn's Yarn Addiction was a-hoppin'!

Thanks Magee, and see you next year!

Crocheted headbands

I've been making a lot of crocheted headbands for the Magee Market Fair this Friday. I have seen a number of different patterns, but just made this one up as I went along. I kept increasing until I got the width that I wanted. I added a crocheted flower because I just love crocheted flowers.

PLEASE excuse how crazy I look in these pics!

Count down is on

It's one week until the Magee Market Fair! This is my third year in a row as a vendor, and it's always great fun. The event is very well-organized, very well-attended, and there are tons of things to do, look at, buy, and EAT! I'll have my trusty helper Allison working my booth with me, and here are some of the goodies up for sale:

Wee hearts:
Wee cupcakes:
And a couple of fat donuts:
There's a lot more goodies at the market fair - hope to see you there!

Market 2012 Fair Wrap Up

Well that was fun!

Some goodies on my table:

Some goodes on Melissa's table:

Hoards of teenagers:

Some goodies that I bought - fake eyelashes and a white nailpolish pen:
Some things I didn't take pictures of: the $2 bbq sausage I had for dinner, my trusty helper Allison, all the lovely silent auction prizes (including yummy yarn that I managed to stay away from), the student entertainers, and a whole lot more. What fun!

Magee Market Fair is TONIGHT!

I'm pretty excited for the Magee Market Fair tonight. It's my second time at the rodeo, and I'm looking forward to seeing all the vendors, hearing the entertainment, and eating all the food. And Oh Hello Rabbit will be at the table right beside me! Plus all the proceeds go to support the music program at the school - which is truly awesome.

For some reason I made lots of food for this market. Donuts and cupcakes and ding dongs...

...and other sweet treats - these ones have squeaker toys inside them:
I'm excited for a fun night!

Box o' flowers

I'm getting ready for the Magee Market Fair again, which happens this Friday. Last year was so much fun, this year I'll be with Melissa of Oh Hello Rabbit. I've been making some flowers for the sale and thinking about how to display them.

I found this empty tea box:
And thought it would be perfect for some yarn flowers:
Look at them all, so happy!

Tulips for Spring

Last weekend I finally got a chance to deliver this bear to its new home. The winner Maria owns and runs this lovely flower shop in Marpole. It was raining and busy on Saturday, so I only had a few seconds to run in and out. But Maria found the time to wrap up a bunch of tulips for me:

So pretty! This means spring is on the way!
