I have been making baby blankets lately. They're great for me - they're finished before I get bored with it - the perfect size. I found this pin from Daisy Cottage Designs and just loved the colours. I made my own version, with taupe yarn instead of grey.
I made a few more rounds so that the blanket was bigger.
And I made a matching mobile.
It's a little birdie and heart, that you can hang off the doorknob or from the ceiling.
I love the colours, I think they look great together.
Here is the set, all done. I think I will re-open my etsy store and list this as an item! Well, I've been talking about re-opening my etsy store but maybe I will actually DO it!

Baby Things
Beth gave me some yarn from her own stash. Because I need more yarn. (Yes I do!) She had two balls of this lovely baby yarn in cotton/poly blend. We have a couple of friends having babies soon, so I made her a set of baby things:
A simple roll brim hat:
A pair of little booties, using this pattern from Prisca handmade:
And a wee little hanging birdie (pattern on my pattern page):
Here they are, a set of green baby things. Pink set to follow!

Birdie set
Here's a wee set I made for a friend who is expecting her first baby in mid-march. I love the grey and yellow combo, especially since the sex will be a surprise. I used my own pattern for the birdie, find it on the pattern page.

Hello world! It's Friday, and I wrote up a pattern, and I'm putting it up here for free, FREE I say! Here's a quick pattern for the birdies that I talked about here. Maybe you'd like to make yourself a little birdie? Click here to download the entire pattern, or read on...
This is the first real pattern I've ever written up so please let me know if you find any mistakes. Thanks!
