My dear friend Mike is an uncle again. I made him this baby set for his new niece.
I used this pattern from Daisy Cottage Designs, which is so simple and lovely. I added a fourth colour and a few more rounds.
And I made her a little polar bear, with a hot pink scarf.
And there was still more yarn left, so I made her a stripy hat. Yay, baby things for wee babes!

Big polar bear
I had some more yearn leftover from Beth's stash, so I made one of my polar bears. I got the lovely eyes and noses from the shop 6060 on etsy, and the pattern is my own. I have made many Snowy polar bears, and this one turned out bigger than usual, because of the aran yarn.
I just LOVE his big nose!
And here he is with his penguin buddy.

Winner!
Snowy the Fisherman didn't win the contest. But I got so many lovely comments about him that I decided to raffle him off to my Facebook friends who "liked" him. I also let the King and I kids have a chance at winning him - they helped me cut up the names of the entries and put them into a bag to draw. And one of them won! Here's Holly, with her new prize:
Bye, bye Snowy, have fun in your new home :)

Snowy the Fisherman
This is Snowy! I made him for a contest from Amigurumipatterns.net. The theme was "Animals at Work." There are 264 great entries in total! If you want, you can vote for Snowy (and 4 other). I could win books and YARN! Vote here, and thanks! After the contest, I will donate Snowy to charity :)

California Bear
This guy went to California this week. He probably doesn't need the scarf, he might be hot down there. Still, it makes him look distinguished. Want one of your own?

Girlie Bear
More gifts for babies, this time Baby V. I made her a little bear, using the same pattern I used here, and gave her a little pink dress.

Eyes and Noses
As you can tell, I make a lot of animals and dolls - basically stuff with faces. I found this seller on etsy a couple years ago. She's great! Always prompt and has tons of stock. The eyes come with plastic washers so they lock into place, which makes them safe for wee kids (or adults) to chew on. Here are two polar bears I made using eyes and noses from 6060:
Aren't they happy looking bears??
