Loom socks

This year for Christmas, my present to the ladies in my family was Slipper Socks.

I like to knit these on my smallest round loom - they're SO fast and cozy!

Red and aqua blue look nice together, don't they?

I like this yarn. It's pretty soft for being acrylic and it's easy to work with. Plus it's always on sale at Michael's.

 I made some slippers, using this pattern as a guide.

I say "as a guide" because I couldn't get the size right, for my foot anyway. The red ones are a bit too big, so I went down a few crochet hook sizes and made the blue ones, which are a bit too small. I'm like Goldilocks over here! 

I added a little flower detail and left the strap off.

Slippers! They'll go in my pile of "things to give away as gifts".

Some Slippers

I made some slippers for a friend of mine because hey, who doesn't like slippers? I modified this pattern a bit and just eye-balled the size as I went along.

One thing you can't do by crocheting is make two things at the same time. This 2-in-1 technique is great when you're knitting a pair of socks or mittens or slippers, because they will always be the same size. I think I made the left slipper fine, but the right slipper is a bit too short. You can see my pink big toe peeping out...

But they were quick to make and super comfy. It's a good stash buster project and great to keep on hand for last minute gifts.
