Hat for J

My friend J wanted me to make her a hat similar to one she saw online. It was made of thick wool and was very warm and slouchy. So I got busy!
I choose Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick - it took me one skein and a couple of hours. Hopefully I'll get a picture of HER wearing the hat! But it turned out great. I think I jotted some numbers down so maybe I'll make up a pattern someday.

A knitting challenge: Dog Coat

I love a knitting challenge! A friend of mine had an old pattern for a knit dog sweater, which she copied out for me into an email. She included a couple pictures of her pup, some measurements, and this awesome old-school photo:

I rarely follow patterns exactly, but this time I did (aside from the stripes). And here's how it turned out:

I also made him one in red/cream - this time my own "pattern" (meaning I just made it up as I went along). It turned out ok, but I have to shorten the sleeves to make it fit properly.

And here it is on the happy dog:
Oooooh ya, that's one snappy looking dog! Knitting challenge conquered, checkity check!
