Tea Time Play Set

This year I'm participating in Sew, Mama, Sew's May Giveaway Day! Melissa over at Oh Hello Rabbit told me about it and I was excited to join in the fun. Here is my giveaway post:

My idea for this project started with yogurt. I eat a lot of yogurt. (It's yummy!) So now I have all these leftover yogurt containers and was trying to think of ways recycle them. Here's what I came up with:
Huh?! That doesn't look like a yogurt container?! Well that's because I crocheted a teapot around it. Using yellow and lavender acrylic yarn, I free-styled a pattern and covered both the top and bottom of an Activia yogurt container. But wait, there's more:

The top of the yogurt container/bottom of the teapot snaps off...
And hey there, it looks like there are some treats inside!
Yes indeed, there's a whole tea set in there.
The set contains four saucers with picot edging, two teacups, two cupcakes, and two wee chocolate chip cookies.
Have a spot of tea, then pack them up. The cupcakes fit in the cups, the saucers stack up nicely...
...and they all fit back into the teapot.
Tea time is over...for now...
If you would like to enter to win this handmade Tea Time Play Set, please leave a comment here. I will randomly choose a winner and the tea set will be shipped off to a new home. I will ship internationally, so go ahead and enter! The giveaway closes May 25 - good luck!

  1. This is totally adorable. Lalainia's little girl is obsessed with having tea parties, this would be perfect for her. You are unbelievable Jen, and just so you know you got me addicted when we were in Meet me in St. Louis, and I have blessed everyone I know with a scarf, and am not waiting for some of them to wear out so I can give them new ones. You are addictive. Elaine Lindbjerg

  7. That is the cutest idea I have seen in a while. I love it. The teapot/teacup love runs in my blood, it was handed down from my Nana and I am pretty sure she got it from her mother so it probably runs deeper than I even know.

  47. How adorable!! Lovely colors and it looks like tons of fun. My daughter isn't quite at the age where she'd get what this is, but my son would probably love it :P

Since you mentioned to eat a lot of yogurt, I have to ask if you've considered making your own? Weird question probably, and you wouldn't have any more containers left to make cute things from, but you can make a gallon-of-milk's worth of yogurt in a crock pot and it's so delicious. /random suggestion :D
