Part two of this post - baby things for a baby girl! Here's my starting yarn again:
First a hat, which I free-styled in hdc:
Then some bow booties using this pattern, but without the bow:
And finally a heart using this pattern:
Pink set, all done!

Baby Things
Beth gave me some yarn from her own stash. Because I need more yarn. (Yes I do!) She had two balls of this lovely baby yarn in cotton/poly blend. We have a couple of friends having babies soon, so I made her a set of baby things:
A simple roll brim hat:
A pair of little booties, using this pattern from Prisca handmade:
And a wee little hanging birdie (pattern on my pattern page):
Here they are, a set of green baby things. Pink set to follow!

Re-purposing candle jars
Here are two candles, well-used and past their prime.
I loved the jars they came in - with their perfect matching tops. I cleaned them out and now they're ready to be re-purposed.
I made a little package for a friend of mine. It contains a crocheted wash cloth in 100% cotton, some cotton pads, nail polish remover, lip gloss and red nail polish.
Just arrange and cram 'em all in there! I might try and decorate the outside of the glass but for now, it's good to go.

Birdie set
Here's a wee set I made for a friend who is expecting her first baby in mid-march. I love the grey and yellow combo, especially since the sex will be a surprise. I used my own pattern for the birdie, find it on the pattern page.

Hello Hat!
Last week I cast on to make this hat, by Splendor.
I love the look of cables. They are so simple to do but they look SO intricate and lovely!
On me -
But hats always look better on my hubby. I think this will be a gift for my MIL, so I hope she's not reading this!

Last day
We had a temp gal in the office over the past few months, and Friday was her last day. I got her this mug from our Department and filled it with goodies. It's not all bad stuff! There's fruit and mints and gummies and gum in there - along with chocolate!
I got some nice sunny gerber daisies for her too, since she was a sunny addition to our office.

Baby shower gifts
My cousin is having a baby and it's a girl! I got this yarn at the yarn swap I went to in January, it's a lovely wool and silk blend.
I also made her a crocheted owl. I hope the baby likes it!

Colour combo
Red and aqua blue look nice together, don't they?
I like this yarn. It's pretty soft for being acrylic and it's easy to work with. Plus it's always on sale at Michael's.
I made some slippers, using this pattern as a guide.
I say "as a guide" because I couldn't get the size right, for my foot anyway. The red ones are a bit too big, so I went down a few crochet hook sizes and made the blue ones, which are a bit too small. I'm like Goldilocks over here!
I added a little flower detail and left the strap off.
Slippers! They'll go in my pile of "things to give away as gifts".Wednesday, 23 March 2011
Spring Birthdays: Donya's Ruffle Scarf
It's finally spring! There are a lot of spring birthdays in my life, including Donya's birthday, March 20. Last month Donya gave me a whole bunch of yarn and I love her for it! So for her birthday, I used some of the yarn she gave me to make this:
It's called an Infinity Loop Scarf — To Ruffle or Not, original pattern here.
You can wrap it around once, twice, or three times! (Maybe 4 times, if you want to obstruct oxygen flow.)
I should have taken a picture of her wearing it, but I forgot. Donya, send me a picture!
(Ravelry'd here)
