Chickadee set

I forgot about this fabric that I had in my collection - a nice flannel cotton with happy chickadees on it. I made a few of these sets in the past, and then forgot I had more fabric.

I made up a nice border and a matching rattle in chickadee yellow. It'll go into the sell/auction/donate pile.

Mini ripple blanket

My cousin in Ottawa is expecting a baby girl! She requested a mini blanket, just big enough for the baby stroller.

This was easy and fast to whip up, so I made a matching baby bear rattle for her too. Actually she has a squeaker inside her, so she squeaks when you press her little nose.

Monster baby set

We have more friends who are expecting, Danny and Katie. I made them a blanket set, like the one I made here, using my skip blade tool.

I saw this fabric in the store and thought of Danny right away, so I went with a little monster theme.

I made a matching monster rattle, inspired by the red guy in the print. I didn't make him little green arms, in case they got chewed off. But I added some blue polkadots to him, and a big silly smile.

Baby bear set

I'm sort of addicted to making little baby sets with my Kay's Crochet skip blade tool. Here is another one I made with a lovely mint green picot edge border. The matching bear was a little amigurumi man that I made ages ago. He had some funny shorts on and I just couldn't make his outfit work properly. So I turned him into a bear!

Cherry set

I finished another blanket set with my wonderful skip blade tool that I posted about here.

I used some yarn donated by Caitlin, the same yarn I used to make this giraffe.

Here it is, a cute little hat with bow and a warm flannel blankie.

Winsome Baby Set

I can finally post this! I started writing this in April, when Leora was expecting. Now they have a baby boy, Avery, and he's 7 months old. It's taken me that long to get my present to him. But now they have it, and I can hit publish on this:

Our friends Scott and Leora are expecting! We went to their wedding last year, and now they have a baby on the way!

I made a mobile and blanket set for them.

In a nice green/yellow/cream gender-neural palette.

So exciting for them!

Monkey Blankie

Last week I told you about my new crafting tool, the skip blade. I also posted a pic of these flannel blankets that I bought, don't you just love the sock monkeys on the left?

I made a sock monkey blanket set.

Pretty cute, huh!

Bear Blankie

I got a new crafting too last week, Kay's Crochet skip blade. It's a rotary tool attachment that pokes holes into fabric so you can add a crocheted edge. It's WONDERFUL!

I went out to Fabric Land and got some flannel blankets.

Then I poked some holes into this bear blankie, and crocheted an edge on to it. Then I found this guy...

And gave him a matching bowtie. I think it will make for a nice gift for a new baby. I am obsessed with this skip blade, I love it! Now I have to get a whole new stash of flannel fabrics!

Kim's baby shower

My cousin Kim is having a baby boy! We went to a brunch baby shower for her last weekend.

I made her a little baby set, with this blue hanging bird -

And a matching baby blanket.

We played a couple of games, including this one - name the celebrity baby.

And here are two future celebrities, Monica and Leyna. Such pretty girls.

Baby set

My dear friend Mike is an uncle again. I made him this baby set for his new niece.

I used this pattern from Daisy Cottage Designs, which is so simple and lovely. I added a fourth colour and a few more rounds.

And I made her a little polar bear, with a hot pink scarf.

And there was still more yarn left, so I made her a stripy hat. Yay, baby things for wee babes!
