PNE visit

Summer just wouldn't be complete without a trip to the PNE.
This year we checked out the mini chuck wagon races. Look at 'em go!
And I ate. A lot. Including this rotato! It was more chip-like, not as potato-like as the one at the night market. But still delish.
Noah made me play some games with him. Or rather, pay for him to play games. He won this turtle on the water shooting game and he was so, so, SO happy!
We also went to see my niece Brianna perform with Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance - it's the organization's 20th year anniversary!
Here I am with the superstar.
And this other superstar, my niece Leyna.
I didn't get to do a lot of things, like visit the Game of Thrones exhibit or see Knit Social's yarn bombing display or stay to watch one of the summer nights concerts. Oh summer, where did you go?!

Crochet Flower Garlands

Here's something fun. Knit Social is looking for material for a yarn installation they're doing for the PNE this year. They're asking for donations of stripes, bunting crocheted rocks and flower garlands. I have LOTS of yarn bits to use up, so I made some garlands over the weekend.
They are super quick to make up...
So I made lots of them...
I think I have 8 so far...
Once I get tired of these, I'll looking into crocheting rocks. I've never done those before so I'm excited to try!

Yarn Swap

Last weekend my friend sent me a message about this yarn swap. I only happened to read the message 1.5 hours into the swap! So I quickly looked for some goodies to swap, and ran, RAN! out the door.

Here's what I had to swap.

I had never heard of Knit Social before, so I didn't know what to expect.
I parked myself beside the nicest, sweetest woman ever, Perle. I didn't get a picture of her or her contact info, but here's what she had to swap:

I took a couple of those awesome cones off her hands.
There was some great stuff! I admit, I acquired more than I gave away, but talked to some nice people and scored some stuff off the free table. I'll be sure to keep up with their events so I can be better prepared next time!
