  1. So cute!
We hand out candy after going out and trick or treating with our kids. This year we get to go to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party the Sunday before Halloween! I'm trying to convince my husband that we should ALL dress up, not just the kids. The kids will be Woody and Jessie from Toy Story....but hubby is saying no way to dressing up at all. :( Sour Sport!

  2. We have a granddaughter born on Halloween. We have her party, then they all go out trick or treating and we stay at their house and give out the candy. I call her my little pumpkin.

The tradition that has accidentally become the tradition for my husband and me is leaving our costume idea until four hours or less before the halloween party that we attend that year. To our credit though we have master crafted two life-size cardboard lego people; curious george and the man in the yellow hat, a nurse and a doctor (Dr. Poke-me-mon...sigh, long story with hilarious pictures) and a caterpillar & race car track (no connection between those two). However my new tradition is going to be winning the October Giveaway and having someone knit me an owl costume...wonder who that might be....

  4. We are not into halloween here, but do love fall time! In fact today is such a beautiful day, we will be enjoying it outside with a trip to the park, a picnic, bonfire & a marshmallow roast to seal the deal!!

  5. The owl is ADORABLE! Halloween has always been my mom's favorite holiday, so traditionally we go ALL OUT! Decorations are planned for weeks and starting Oct 1st, cover our entire house. A costume "theme" is chosen in early July and our entire family (plus lots of friends) choose elaborate costumes to wear over to my mom's house for our annual Halloween party - where we will eat LOTS of creepy - themed - foods (like monster mash soup and cheesy bat brains) :) My favorite theme was "revenge of the nerds" where all 30 of us dressed in our geekiest attire! The photos were hilarious! :)

  6. The owl is so cute! I was never a fan of Halloween until I had my daughter. Her enthusiasm for Halloween has made me enjoy it all over again. We decorate (sweet not scary,) leave a bowl of candy on the front steps and then trick or treat around our neighborhood. Of course my daughter eats very little of the candy so her dad and I have tons to eat. Everyone comes out a winner!

  8. We used to just decorate and hand out candy, but now that our little one is here, we will be developing new Halloween traditions! So far we went out and bought her costume, so I guess I don't have much else to say about it, but I guess it's easiest to say we will be starting a new tradition this year, whatever it is! :)

  9. Alright, we have a tradition that we didn't try to start but it's turned into a bit of one, it's sorta funny and makes me sound like the grinch of halloween, though I'm not.

My husband and I bought a house that I moved into before we got married. We took possession of it on Oct 26 and on the 31 our washer and dryer were delivered. So he's done work and school that day and comes to hook it all up, but of course we're busy doing that so we turned the lights off and tried to do it in the dark. Kids were knocking on the door and saying, "we know you're in there!" The next year he was super sick and I worked so when I got home late the house was dark and we walked around without lights on so the kids didn't see us. The year after that his parents couldn't so we went and handed out candy at their house (3 kids came). There was always some reason why we didn't hand out candy at our house, like me taking our friends kids or whatnot, but NEVER us handing out candy at home. I swear people thought we didn't believe in it or something! So we moved to our current house and finally bought candy so the kids in town didn't hate us. Guess what?! Not a single kid came for two years in a row! Me and halloween don't mix which is sad because I LOVE seeing the little guys in their costumes, it's so stinking cute.

Adorable owl....I love owls and hope it comes to my house!

  10. Not such a silly one but here we like to honour the original traditions of the people from our land. Halloween is a modern interpretation of Samhain, the pagan/Celtic new year, the time of year when the spirit and the physical worlds are closest. We have an open fire and we give each other an apple (we pick them from our own trees). We then cut the apple and count the seeds. The number of seeds represents the number of new things that are coming to us in the year ahead - the new things could be anything from a new friendship/job to a new haircut. Then we eat the seeds, welcoming the new things, whatever they be, into our lives.

    Happy Samhain!

We don't celebrate halloween but my son loves ghosts, bats and owls so would love to add this to his collection. Beautiful Owl by the way, I love the look of him.
    Thanks for having a giveaway

  14. What a cute owl! I do just a little decorating but mostly we like dressing up our toddler and taking him to a trunk or treat, and hand out candy at our house.

  16. Well, like Stefanie S above, I tend to leave things unil the last minute. Unlike her, I don't seem to come up with awesome last minute costumes. So, this year, I am determined to plan ahead! Cosume for kiddo #1 is in the works. Kiddo #2 can't decide what she wants to be so we will have to resort to a last minute store bought costume (hmm, she seems to be taking after me..). We'll trick-or-treat around our neighbourhood and then setting in at home and watch some Charlie Brown :)
